Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SM INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT LIMITED, trading as Novakik BJJ ("we", "us"), collects and uses personal information when you visit novakikfightwear.com or buy from us. We are the data controller for this information.

What we collect

Order and account information: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, order history and, if you create one, account details.
Payment information: payments are handled by our payment providers through Shopify. We do not see or store your full card number.
Messages: what you send us by email or through our contact form.
Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, products looked at, and how you reached our site. This is collected with cookies and similar technologies (see below).
Reviews: if you leave a product review, your name and review content.

How we use it, and our legal basis

To process, ship and support your orders, including returns. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
To run, secure and improve our store and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
To measure our advertising and show you relevant ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram (your consent, where required by law).
To send marketing emails if you have opted in (consent). You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store:

Shopify: our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes checkout.
Payment providers: to take payment.
Shipping carriers and our fulfilment partner: to deliver your order.
Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center): analytics and advertising measurement.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram, through the Meta Pixel): advertising measurement.
Judge.me: product reviews.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

Under some US state laws, sharing data with advertising partners for targeted advertising can count as a "sale" or "sharing". You can opt out at Your Privacy Choices.

Cookies

We use cookies that the store needs to work (such as your cart and checkout), plus analytics and advertising cookies. Where the law requires it, including in the EU and UK, analytics and advertising cookies are only set once you agree to them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time and can also block cookies in your browser.

International transfers

We are based in Hong Kong, and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data from the EU or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires (normally up to 7 years). Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights — US residents

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Oregon), you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; access and get a copy of it; correct it; delete it; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information and of targeted advertising. You can use an authorised agent, and if we decline your request you can appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories described in "What we collect" above, for the purposes described in "How we use it", and disclosed them to the categories of recipients described in "Who we share it with". We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Your rights — EU, UK and other countries

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that has already happened. To use these rights, email novakikbjj@gmail.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising them. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In Hong Kong, the regulator is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.

Children

We sell children's gear, but our store is not intended for use by children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Purchases for children should be made by a parent or guardian.
